Carteret County serves the “English as a Second Language”
population in the Morehead
City
School district at the following
schools: Morehead City Primary,

Transportation is provided regardless of where you live in the county.
We ask that you follow the steps below when enrolling your child in

for English as a Second Language Program services in the first few weeks of school and
as a result of that screening test he or she will be recommended for
services.
Step 1:
Upon moving to Carteret County
please contact Mr. Ricardo Gomez, our community liaison, at 725-2573.
Step 2:
Enroll your child at the school appropriate for his/her age and language
needs (Mr. Ricardo Gomez will assist as needed.)
Step 3:
Your child will be given an initial test for language skills.
If he/she, according to the results, is eligible for English as a Second
