Marching Mariners: The Pride of the East This is an award-winning ensemble. The Marching Mariners have competed in numerous competitions. We compete in 5 - 6 competitions each fall. We have traveled to Bands of America to Compete. We competed at the St. Petersburg, FL regional last year fall 2007, and receive first place in class A. We also received Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance, and Outstanding General Effect. We performed in Finals in exhibition. J. H. This ensemble went to NCBA Eastern District concert Band Festival on March 1, 2004, March 1, 2005, and on March 22, 2006. They received a Superior Rating all three years. This ensemble travels in the spring to compete in other concert Band Festivals. In the Spring of 2005, the Concert Band competed in Williamsburg, VA at Music in the Parks. They received a superior rating, first place in their class, and the Overall Concert Band Award. The concert band performs three concerts a year for the community. Within the concert band, there are opportunities to audition for various Honor bands such as All-district Honors Band and All-State Honors Band. |

The Colorguard joins the Marching Mariners in the fall on the field for competitions. Auditions have already taken place. See the Colorguard site for the list of new members. The Winterguard is comprised of members of the fall Colorguard. Auditions are held for Winterguard during Colorguard class which is held Third Period. Our Winterguard is currently ranked as Atlantic Indoor Association's Scholastic A2 2006 Gold Medallists. |

Percussion Ensemble meets as a class during the Spring Semester. During the fall, percussionists are included in the Marching Band class. Any current band student may take Percussion Ensemble, however, this group is largely comprised of Percussion students. This year the percussion ensemble competed in Atlantic Indoor Association. |
